The Language of Poetry

In this module, you will learn about the words that we use to write poetry. These are our learning targets:

• You will define the Words to Know for the unit. (see column: Words to Know)
• You will identify examples of imagery.
• You will differentiate between figurative and literal language.
• You will differentiate between the four types of figurative language: simile, metaphor, personification, and hyperbole.
