How to Write the Topic Sentence Outline

checklist for outline completion:


  • Starts with the thesis 
  • The topic sentences are the SAME ideas as the roadmap in the SAME order
  • Write each topic sentence as ONE complete sentence: 
    1. Start with a transition word or phrase 
    2. Briefly mention the thesis position
    3. State the topic of the paragraph
    4. Add a period.
