follow the verbs

Step by Step

1.

Go back to your storyboard. For each scene, choose a VERB that best describes what's going on in that scene.

Then, make a list of 5+ verbs that break down the verb you chose. For example, if you chose RUN in step 1, you could list SWEAT, JOG, STEP, TURN, BREATHE.   


If you chose STUDY, you could list READ, TAKE NOTES, REVIEW, SIGH, YAWN, TAP PENCIL....


3.

Now, go back to the WRITTEN scene and see where you can add in sentences, paragraphs, or sections that use those words.  Repeat steps 1-3 for each scene.

Bonus challenge

For each of the VERBS, try brainstorming 5+ NOUNS that relate.

  • Fitbit

STUDY

  • Books
  • Desk
  • Mom
  • Phone
  • Homework


Then, you guessed it, go back to the scene and see where you can add in sentences, paragraphs, or sections that use those words.
