How to Fill In a Story Board

List of Steps

step 1

Label the Character Arc

Label the character arc with the protagonist’s before and after. You should already have decided this information during your brainstorming.

step 2

Draw the Protagonist and the Conflict

Next, draw in your character and something to represent the conflict. In this case, the girl is nervous about the bicycle unit she’s going to be doing in PE.

step 3

Draw Setting and Characterization for the Scenes

'

SCENE 1

SCENE 3

SCENE 2

Then draw in as many details as you can for characterization and setting. The amount on these examples is the bare minimum.

It’s best to do the drawings in the order shown. Scene one first. Then scene three. And finally scene two.

Be sure to make your character match up with the words on the character arc. Notice that she says and thinks things that make her seem nervous in scene 1 and confident in scene 3. Scene 2 shows the struggle in between and how she learned to be confident.
